Their most fearsome opponent was not the police but the courageous journalist Veronica Guerin, who covered the crime beat with unmatched intensity. Based on a true story, adapted from the GQ article “The Martyrdom of Veronica Guerin” by Mike Sager, which appeared in the March 1997 issue of GQ and the collection Scary Monsters and Super Freaks (DeCapo Press, 2003).
